Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One releasing next Diwali?

Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One releasing next Diwali?: Those who have been itching to see Shahrukh Khan again on the big screen will have to be patient. The film, earlier slated for release in June, may not hit the marquee before October 2011.

Blame it on SFX. Since SRK is putting his heart and soul into the sci-fi extravaganza directed by Anubhav Sinha, the superstar is hell-bent on ensuring the best quality special effects for the film that has him playing a superhero.

SRK is also mindful that Rajinikanth’s latest box office quaker Endhiran (Robot) has set a new benchmark as far as sci-fi superheroes go. SRK, being who he is, will surely aim for raising the bar and doing so will require greater labour and time on the film’s look.

So the SFX work, which was supposed to be over before June next year, will now take longer, according to sources associated with the film. Consequently, Ra.One has been pushed to the festive season and might release during the Diwali weekend of 2011.

Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan: Movies War for Christmas 2011

Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan: Movies War for Christmas 2011: After a rigorous shoot for his superhero flick ‘Ra. One’, Shahrukh Khan is now in Berlin busy with the filming of Don 2. The sequel to Don, this promising thriller is being helmed by Farhan Akhtar and also stars Priyanka Chopra as the lead female.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan has signed an untitled suspense thriller by Reema Kagti and that film shall be going on the floors on February, 2011.

Though, no official date has been selected yet, the makers are planning to release this Aamir venture in the last phase of 2011.

Interestingly, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani are the producers of both the films. Certainly, they won’t desire a clash. But Don 2 has been slated for a 23rd December, 2011 release, a date that can never go wrong unless the film is abysmally poor. Film makers these days do try to cash in on the festive fervour of Diwali and Christmas.
But since Aamir prefers his films to find a Christmas release, one can’t be blamed for believing that Reema Kagti’s film shall find a theatrical release around the same time. But since both films are under the Farhan Akhtar banner, a clash is unlikely to take place.

Reema has tried to dismiss this speculation but it would be interesting to see which of the two Khans can lock the Christmas date.

Shahrukh Khan's 'Ra. One' to copy Rajinikanth?

Shahrukh Khan's 'Ra. One' to copy Rajinikanth?: It may be a coincidence but his detractors would call it plagiarism. Shahrukh Khan stands the risk of being accused of copying none other than the south mega star Rajinikanth.
Shahrukh Khan
A chase sequence shot atop a train in Ra.One has startling similarity to the sequence in Endhiran The Robot when Rajini runs laterally on a moving train to save his ladylove from goons. Since the fans have enjoyed the chase sequence in Robot a lot, there are going to be obvious comparisons, and probably accusations of plagiarism, when they see SRK doing the same in Ra.One.

Further, the allegations would get credibility given the fact that director Shankar had first approached SRK for Robot and had even discussed the film in detail.

To avoid such allegations, SRK has given clear instructions to the creative team to make the chase sequence on the train in Ra.One as different as can be from the one in Robot.

But would SRK be able to outshine, if not match, Rajinikanth’s style?

Now, that would be interesting to see!
